I have been buying new balance men's 600 series, cross training shoes, probably now for over 10 years. I have a narrow foot and new balance B width shoes fit me to a T. I have particularly enjoyed the MX622. This shoe is light. durable, and well padded. It has all leather construction, with sufficient vents for breathing. The sole has excellent traction, and has the perfect stiffness to avoid having rock impacts transmitted to your feet. They hold up well. I typically get a minimum of 6 to 9 months of daily wear on each pair. I recently bought a second pair, when I found out that they were being replaced with a new model. In a moment of extreme laziness, I actually pulled out the laces, and the insoles and threw them in the washing machine with a load of towels. The results were astounding. Absolutely no damage to the shoes and about two thirds of the visible wear had been erased. A bit more work with a sponge and spray cleaner, cleaned up what was left. The leather is extremely robust and the result was a pair of cross trainers with little more than a just broken-in appearance. The top lacing eyes have a retention mechanism that keeps the shoes tied, eliminating the necessity for double knots. The shoes always look good and are always comfortable over a wide range of temperatures and use.
